Veolia Environmental Services is one of Australia’s largest domestic providers, specialising in waste and recyclables collection.
Recognising councils desire to match local needs with local solutions, Veolia has helped many councils to develop waste management solutions. The council waste management plans incorporate waste minimisation strategies, collection and recycling services, as well as supporting education initiatives to deliver a holistic approach.
Collection and Recycling
Veolia can design and implement collection systems for the entire recyclable and general waste streams produced within the council sector.
These include:
- General Waste
- Dry and Trade Waste
- White Goods
- Green Waste
- Commingled recyclables (paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, aluminium, and steel cans)
- Electrical and electronic goods
Innovative Collection Systems
Veolia utilises a range of collection systems which are tailored to the specific needs of each council. These systems include:
- Split Bin System
- 2 or 3 Bin System
- Crate System
- Public place collection system
- One-day drop –offs (E-Waste)
Monitoring and Reporting
Veolia operates the Veolia Request System which was a program developed internally and maintains a customer request database to administer our customer service and bin management requirements
Veolia will soon be launching a new Paperless Truck System throughout our collection fleet. This GPS based system will enable councils to:
- View maps of routes taken on any particular days
- Provide more detailed reports on service performance
- Missed bin notifications sent electronically to the driver
- Benchmarking capabilities.
Integrated Resource Recovery Solutions
Veolia can integrate resource recovery options into collection services utilising our extensive range of materials recovery infrastructure around Australia. These facilities include:
- Materials Recovery Facilities – Glass, paper, plastics, metals
- Composting – Organics Recovery
- Bioreactor Landfills Technology – Energy Recovery
- Alternative Waste Technologies (Currently under development)
- Electronic waste recovery facilities
