Managing Director

Doug Dean, B Comm, FCPA, FAIM. Joining Veolia, then Collex, in 1989 Doug Dean is responsible for the strategic direction and performance of Veolia and is the longest serving CEO in Australia's waste management and industrial services sectors. Doug previously held a position as a senior executive with a major Australian transport group for 10 years. Holding an accounting background with one of Australia's top business service firms, he is also a committee member on many key industry groups. Doug has also held many Company Director roles throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe and the United States in the areas of waste management, transport and water supply.

Company Secretary

Reg Wallin, B Comm, CPA, FCIS. Reg Joined Veolia in 1995 and serves on the Audit Committee, the Compliance Committee and is the chairman of the company’s employer sponsored, superannuation fund. Before Veolia, Reg had 30 years' banking experience followed by several years assisting owners of small to medium sized businesses. He has held executive positions in sporting and community service organisations.

Regional Director – Northern Region

Peter Goodwin, B Comm, MBA, FCPA, FICS. Peter joined Veolia in 1995 after spending 16 years occupying similar roles in the steel and heavy manufacturing industries. Assists NSW, QLD and WA management teams focus on productivity, profitability, capital and funding decisions, as well as supervising national Industrial Services operations.

Regional Director – Southern Region

Tony Pinwill joined Veolia in 1991 with over 25 years of experience in the transport industry. As the former General Manager of Victoria, Tony was responsible for turning the small transport business into Victoria’s premier, fully integrated, waste management and industrial services provider. Tony now assists VIC, SA and TAS management teams focus on productivity, profitability, capital and funding decisions. Tony is also responsible for the Group’s operations in South Africa.

Chief Financial Officer

Cameron Leckie, B Comm, CA, Cameron joined Veolia in 2000, moving from a water/heavy manufacturing industry background, where he held similar financial roles over 5 years. Prior to that, he was in public practice for 7 years. Cameron is now responsible for overseeing on a daily basis, all Veolia's national accounting and administration matters, he is also a member of the audit committee.

Group General Manager – Marketing and Business Development

Tony Cade, BBus (Econ), AFAIM. Tony joined Veolia in 2004. During his previous fifteen years in the environmental services industry, Tony held a range of senior management positions in both the public and private sector. He has held a range of Ministerial Appointments to various resource recovery related Boards and Committees and possesses a comprehensive knowledge of North American, European and Asian resource recovery and AWT developments. Tonyholds tertiary qualifications in metalurgy, economics and has completed post graduate studies at Harvard Business School (Boston).Tony is responsible nationally for marketing, business development and corporate affairs functions.

Group General Manager - Corporate Services

Peta Jurd joined Veolia in 2008. In her role Peta is responsible for the Compliance, HR, Legal and Risk functions within the business. Peta has qualifications in Commerce & Law and has had previous senior management positions with Telstra Corporation & Mayne Nickless. She has had responsibility for management in HR, Risk Management, Compliance and Company Secretarial. Peta has also had extensive commercial and operational experience running business units and working with major clients.

Group General Manager – NSW

Peter Murray. Peter joined Veolia in 1989 and has over 25 years of waste industry experience, including those spent as Director of his own business. Peter was a former executive member of the Victorian Waste Management Association as well as other Industry groups, and possesses valuable experience in the investigation of world’s best practice in waste and commodity handling. Recently moving from the position of Group General Manager, VIC, Peter is now responsible for the overall strategic management and administration of all business units operating within the state of NSW.

Group General Manager – VIC


Simon Tori
B. Business (Logistics). Simon joined Veolia in 1995 after previously being employed as a Logistics Analyst for Mobil Oil. Simon has managed various operating divisions within Veolia and has also occupied Commercial Development and Facilities Operational roles. Moving on from his position as General Manager – Operations, Simon now assumes responsibility for the overall management of Veolia VIC operations.

Group General Manager – QLD

Grant Stockwell. Grant joined Veolia in 1993, having previously held a position as state manager for a global transport company. He has accumulated over twenty years' experience in the transport industry. Having participated in study tours of U.K and European waste treatment facilities, he is responsible for the strategic growth of Veolia Queensland, including the identification and development of new business acquisitions, which reinforce the company's commitment to sustainability.

Group General Manager – SA/NT

Dean Dowie MBA. Dean joined Veolia in 1992 and has since gained extensive knowledge in all aspects of the Veolia business including Marketing, Development, Operations and General Management. Holding experience throughout a broad range of industries including, Petro Chem, Motor Vehicle, Mining and Manufacturing. Dean has completed post graduate studies at Harvard Business School. Dean’s role includes General Management of both the Waste Management and Industrial Services divisions of Veolia throughout South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Group General Manager – WA

Peter Grassi B. Eng. Previously General Manager of Vac-Tech, Peter joined Veolia in 2002 after the acquisition of the Vac Tech business. He is responsible for the overall operations in Western Australia in both Industrial Services and Waste Management. Peter has twenty years experience in the contracting industry including commercial, restructuring and logistics competencies

Group General Manager - TAS

Ron Ward. Ron joined Veolia in 2000 following two years as principal consultant for a Sydney based transport consultancy company, specialising in passenger and freight systems. Having previously held a long-term senior executive role, with a global logistics group in Australia and overseas, he is now heading the Veolia Tasmanian business and working to promote the operation as a professional waste management, recycling and industrial cleaning operator. Ron is also responsible for tactical implementation of Veolia's Sustainable Development Policy to secure the best interests of customers, employees, the community and shareholders
